Shona stone sculptures - Beaconsfield
- Each year at Centennial Park in Beaconsfield, a stone sculptor from Zimbabwe produces magnificent sculptures on the grounds. He is surrounded by over 50 large and small sculptures that are for sale. They are stunning and of very high quality. The sale of these largely goes back into the Zimbabwean community. This year, the event will be held from July 25th to August 2nd. Not to be missed. The type of stone is awesome in colour, texture and finish. The themes relate to the Zimbabwean environment and community... animals, people and the interaction between them. Some are more than 5' tall, while others are 6"-8" high. The artist is pleased to discuss his art and his techniques. Not to be missed.
