At only 16 years of age, breezing through junior levels to make the senior national team in 2007 and with already 15 medals from national and international competitions, Jennifer Abel was among the youngest athletes to qualify for the Beijing Summer Olympics, only trumped in age by a few in the present and past, notably her Olympic diving teammate/superstar Alexandre Despatie, who was 15 when he went to the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
