Westmount's Summit Park in Montreal
View from an Urban Forest

From Evelyn Reid, About.com

One of Montreal's few designated bird sanctuaries, located atop Westmount, a self-governed municipality just west of downtown Montreal, Summit Park is 57 acres of protected wildlife and the lesser known of Mount Royal's three peaks, surrounded by seven figure houses that disappear within seconds of entering the park.

A birdwatcher's paradise and an oasis of calm for anyone who desperately needs a break from city smog, there are a few ways to reach the summit and all of them involve a fair bit of walking if you are without a car. Call (514) 989-5200 for directions to Summit Park.
