Stunning and outlandish, with retro futurist remnants of Expo 67 scattered throughout the grounds, you can't miss the contrast of contemporary sculpture against the backdrop of excessive groundhog breeding. At the Floralies Gardens, you'll also spot the occasional duck, a variety of birds and if you're very quiet and a little lucky, a fox on an early morning.
The Floralies Gardens' 25 acres are located on Île Notre-Dame in Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau and were originally created -- down to the last cotton ball tree -- by several international landscape artists participating in the 1980 International Floralies fair. Surrounded by the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, man-made canals and with enough weeping willows to lose count, the Floralies Gardens are also just steps away from the Montreal Casino.
