Seasonal Neighborhood Markets
An initiative that started in 2007, the organization Nourrir Montréal wanted Montrealers who aren't close to the big markets listed above to benefit from access to homegrown produce at least in the summer and fall. The neighborhoods benefitting from these temp farmers markets include Côte-Saint-Paul, Lachine, Mercier-Ouest, Montréal-Nord, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Little Burgundy, Pierrefonds, Pointe-Saint-Charles, Saint-Henri, Saint-Laurent, Verdun and downtown Ville-Marie. To find out when a temporary market will be setting up shop near you, consult the CRE website (information in French).

Plateau Neighborhood Seasonal Market
Plateau residents, since June 2009, benefit from their own local temporary market, scheduled every Sunday through to harvest season, in October. The makeshift market also features a live band/artist every week. Find out who is playing next Sunday by consulting the Duluth Market blog.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday.
Where: Saint-Jean-Baptiste School, 4265 Laval, corner Marie-Anne East
Get there: Mont-Royal Metro
Call (514) 225-5306 for more information.

Metro Station Markets
Conveniently located for commuters, these markets generally restrict produce to fruits, vegetables and some local products like maple butter and honey. Look out for one of Montreal's outdoor markets open from March or April to late October at:

  • Cote-des-Neiges Metro
  • Mont-Royal Metro
  • Papineau Metro
  • Place d'Armes Metro
  • Rosemont Metro
  • Square-Victoria Metro
