Seasonal Neighborhood Markets
An initiative that started in 2007, the organization Nourrir Montréal wants Montrealers who aren't close to the big markets listed above to benefit from access to homegrown produce at least in the summer and fall. Neighborhoods benefiting from these temp farmers markets include Côte-Saint-Paul, Lachine, Mercier-Ouest, Montréal-Nord, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Little Burgundy, Pierrefonds, Pointe-Saint-Charles, Saint-Henri, Saint-Laurent, Verdun and downtown Ville-Marie. In 2010, the Conférence régionale des élus de Montréal set up the website Marchés de Quartiers so locals can find markets in their neighborhood (information in French only).
