Parc-nature de l'Île-de-la-Visitation: A Montreal Parks Profile
Parc-nature Île-de-la-Visitation offers 34 hectares (84 acres) of green space overlooking the river -- rivière des Prairies -- that separates the north shore of the island of Montreal from Laval. A quaint bistro and bar -- Bistro des Moulins -- is located on the grounds and within view of rapids, offering a soothing, woodsy alternative to the hustle of downtown Montreal, albeit a bit out of the way by public transit if you're not a neighborhood local. This nature park also proposes historical tours in warmer months, with the area host to the Sault-au-Récollet historical site.
