Booked in partial secrecy, even from Just for Laughs' team of publicists who only found out at the same time as the press conference's roomful of journalists, was the grand announcement revealed, a headliner so hush that one insider told me Just for Laughs co-founder Andy Nulman not only refused to spill the beans but claimed in a Facebook message the night prior to the announcement that, I quote, “seriously, it's the only performer I've ever insisted on taking a picture with. So exciting, I can't sleep.”
Fast forward twenty-four-some hours later? Enter a blown-up shot of Kermit the Frog.
That's right. Mr. Frog, lady love Miss Piggy and fellow members of the Muppets team headline not one, but two "all-star" comedy galas. I'm assuming we'll only find out as we get closer to gala night which non-Muppet celebrities, if any, will join them on stage during their back-to-back performances on July 26, 2012. Buy tickets.
Other acts of note slated to grace the 30th anniversary Just for Laughs milestone include Chelsea Handler, Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader, Aziz Ansari, Bob Saget in potty mouth hosting mode for JFL XXX, Kevin Hart as well as the following performers you may or may not know. First up?
