Founded in 1979, the Canadian Centre for Architecture is an architectural hub open to the public as an award-winning museum as well as as a research center for scholars in architecture, landscaping and urban planning. Visitors can look forward to seeing works -- photographs, models, drawings, and in other formats -- by the likes of historical and contemporary architectural greats, such as: Prints & Drawings Collection
In the range of 100,000 prints and drawings from as far back as the 1400s are available for public viewing and research purposes. Notable highlights include the largest Le Corbusier print collection outside of France, more than 50,000 images (prints, photographs, drawings, models) detailing the works of Peter Eisenman and the most important collection of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's work outside of the Museum of Modern Art in New York is here, at the CCA.

Photography Collection
Over 55,000 photographs from around the 1840s to today, including several daguerreotypes from the 1800s. The CCA also carries a particularly impressive collection of architectural photographs covering the 1840 to 1860 period.

Architectural Archives and Library
Covering the international as well as local architectural scene, the CCA has been collecting, since 1981, archival material related to significant people, groups and companies distinguishing themselves in architecture, landscaping and urban planning, containing almost 215,000 volumes -- from the 15th century to today -- and over 5,000 serial publications including 760 current periodical/journal subscriptions.

Researchers must consult the online collection catalogue, select the materials they wish to consult and make an appointment by telephone at (514) 939-7011. The CCA requires at least 48 hours to gather the material prior to the appointment. Up to 15 items are allowed per session.

Temporary Exhibits
The CCA holds temporary exhibits year round. Some notable past exhibitions include Sorry: Out of Gas and Expo 67: Not Just a Souvenir.
