Montreal Theatre and Dance in July

By Evelyn Reid, About.com

July 4 and July 5, 2009
International Merengue Festival
Two days of merengue are scheduled at Parc Jean-Drapeau, with a spotlight on the Dominican Republic.

July 10 to July 19, 2009
International Tango Festival
Workshops, concerts and dance sessions scheduled at the 7th edition, two outdoor concerts are offered free to the public.

July 10 to July 26, 2009
Chaos Montreal/Zoofest
Alternative theatre, circus, dance, comedy and music, Chaos Montreal / Zoofest is offering over 50 shows. I'd get into the highlights but Zoofest's website is driving me crazy (if I have to hear that buzzing noise one more time ...). I'm almost positive there's some great affordable shows on hand but you'll have to navigate this one for yourself.

Through July 19, 2009
OVO by Cirque du Soleil
If you can score tickets, go!

July 23 to August 16, 2009
Shakespeare in the Park
Repercussion Theatre presents the comedy As You Like It. Open to everyone, the event is free and donations are, I quote, warmly accepted. Bring your own lawn chairs.
