Montreal Garbage Collection Schedule: Christmas Holidays

Find Out When to Take out the Trash During Christmas and New Year's

By , About.com Guide

Montreal's garbage collection schedule during the holiday season is as follows: any regularly scheduled garbage pickups, including large item collections, that fall on Christmas Day and New Year's Day are canceled. Some neighborhoods expect residents to refrain from putting out trash until the next scheduled pickup while other districts schedule specially-scheduled pickups to make up for the service interruption. If Christmas Day or New Year's Day fall on a weekend, the city usually cancels waste disposal services on the Monday after said statutory holiday.

For the 2012-2013 holiday season, several service interruptions are expected, as listed below by borough. Do double check this list by calling 311 as I found conflicting information on several boroughs depending on which City of Montreal document/webpage/source I consulted.
