Clamato Recipe: How To Make Clamato Juice
As a native Montrealer, I've had my fair share of Bloody Caesars, a popular Canadian mixed drink similar to the Bloody Mary, with a more complex flavor. But I recently found out that my cherished cocktail is a rarity in the United States. For whatever reason, the Blood Caesar is NOT a regular cocktail feature south of the border, and clamato juice, a widely available product in Canada, is tough to come by on American soil, unless you make a batch from scratch, which is so easy. This clamato recipe makes enough clamato juice for 4 Bloody Caesars.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 4 servings


  • tomato juice, 20 ounces
  • clam juice or clam nectar, 12 ounces
  • Worcestershire sauce, four dashes or to taste
  • Tabasco sauce or any other pepper sauce, four dashes or to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • celery stalk (optional)
  • lemon or lime wedge (optional)


Combine all ingredients and stir.
Add more Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and/or black pepper if desired.
Consider adding Montreal steak seasoning to the mix.
Garnish individual servings with one celery stalk and a lemon wedge if desired.
Use this clamato juice recipe to make Bloody Caesar cocktails.
