Montreal Restaurant Week is known by two names in Montreal. One is Taste MTL
, a fall mega-event featuring over 100 restaurants across the city. The other is its precursor, Old Montreal's Le Happening Gourmand which, since 2008, has been following the examples of New York Restaurant Week

, but on a much smaller scale: a handful of Old Montreal's mid to high-end restaurants, all owned by the Antonopoulos Group
, cut menu prices roughly 30% to 40% for a three-week period every January. In 2014, Le Happening Gourmand runs from January 9 to February 2, 2014. Reservations are generally not required but recommended.*

Consult Le Happening Gourmand website
for menu details and a complete list of participating restaurants. For reservations, call restaurants directly.
*Note that portion sizes may be significantly smaller than when at full price, which has corresponded with my experience.
