Celebrating Vues d'Afrique's 25th anniversary, the Pan Africa International Film Festival highlights include the visual musings of Mange, ceci est mon corps, a contemplative fiction set in Haiti. And if you can handle the brutality of child soldiers, then prepare to be blown away by Johnny Mad Dog, an extremely disturbing, dark and violent feature set in an unnamed African nation. In terms of documentaries, a couple of notables include Le Pays à l'envers, which revisits slavery in Guadeloupe, and the remains of post-genocide Rwanda are unearthed in Behind this Convent. A Spike Lee retrospective also joins the fest, so don't miss your chance to see his first feature length flick, She's Gotta Have It, a production made possible in large part by his grandma's financial support. Check out the full PanAfrica film fest lineup. Website in French.
