An annual tradition since 1925, the Montreal Santa Claus Parade, better known as the Défilé du Père Noël, typically features thousands of delighted kids waiting to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus, with about 20 floats proceeding along downtown artery and top shopping destination, Ste. Catherine Street, from Fort to St. Urbain.

Défilé du Père Noël in 2009: The 59th Edition
The 2009 Santa Claus Parade will be held on Saturday, November 21, starting at 11 a.m. at the corner of Fort and Ste. Catherine, moving along Ste. Catherine until St. Urbain. Here's a map of the Santa Claus Parade. Try to get there early to get a good view because this is easily downtown Montreal's most popular parade of the year. Ste. Catherine Street, from Peel to de Bleury, gets so congested mid-parade, that it's nearly impossible to walk along the sidewalks.
