An annual tradition at the Old Port, every Saturday night sky in December lights up with TELUS Fire on Ice. Dubbed "pyro-musical" shows, spectators can look forward to fireworks -- or feux d'artifice in French -- choreographed to sound. The show usually starts at 8 p.m. (with the exception of the New Year's Eve edition, which starts at midnight) and last about 15 to 30 minutes. At the Bonsecours Basin (map).

Montreal Christmas Fireworks Meet Skating Rink
Skate and gawk at the same time. The Old Port's outdoor skating rink, the Bonsecours Basin, remains open during fireworks and is a great spot, if not the best spot to catch the show. Ice skate rentals available on site. Skating admission and rental details here.
