From the Great Pumpkin Ball to ghastly ghost tours, spoil the kids rotten this Halloween!

  • La Magie de la Pomme
    Pick a pumpkin in the patch, eat squash fries, even pick some apples at the Roch Dubeault & Fils Farm in Ste. Eustache, north of Montreal and Laval. All visiting kids get a free Magie de la Pomme knapsack if they fill it with $10 worth of apples. Call (450) 623-0062 for reservations and to find out about other activities offered on site.

  • Maze Craze at McMaze
    Night maze, haunted maze, the haunted barn, haunted bush walk, and even more award winning maze craze at McMaze! Pumpkin patches, pumpkin fudge and more on location.

  • Pumpkin Decorating Contest
    Let your child's imagination run wild and bring their freshly decorated pumpkin or squash to the Montreal Botanical Garden and they might win one of several cash prizes. For kids ages 3 to 17. Consult the contest website for rules and entry form.

  • Halloween at the Insectarium
    Spiders are the focus.

  • Haunted House and More at La Ronde
    "Every weekend in October including October 13th, La Ronde morphs into a truly scary venue with its different activity zones. The traditional, ever-popular Haunted House will be back to scare visitors out of their wits! And new this year, La Ronde will be open on the evening of October 31."

    A cesspool of haunting legends and ghost sightings, sign up for a ghost walk or ghost hunt and you'll never see Old Montreal in quite the same way. Recommended for kids ages 10 and up.

  • The Magic of Lanterns at the Montreal Botanical Garden
    A Montreal Botanical Garden tradition 17 years strong, this year's theme centers on Chinese astronomy. Worth a go even if you've seen prior editions: new lanterns are designed here, then produced in Montreal's sister city, Shanghai using traditional methods. On every day from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and same price as admission to the Botanical Garden.

  • Pick a Peck of Pumpkins
    "In addition to meeting Reddie, the friendly red pumpkin, children will also meet her many cousins. Cucumbers, zucchinis, and patty-pan squashes will reveal their secrets to the young botanists to help them fulfill their mission… follow the clues and solve the mystery!"

  • Mount Royal Cemetery
    Visit the dead on a Halloween day. This could bore the pants off tots but older kids might appreciate the beauty of the grounds.
