Just out. The Just for Laughs 2013 edition, with its balmy, humid, summery appeal come every July in Montreal's downtown core, is already taking shape. And two of my pet comedians are confirmed The Nasty Show headliners. Think Bobby Slayton, the Pitbull-of-Comedy-who-bought-me-pastries-and-gushed-like-the-sweetest-puppy-dog-as-I-blushed-in-surprise-on-the-air -- I like you too, Bobby ;-) -- and dapper pottymouth Cambridge graduate Jimmy Carr who makes it a habit of mentioning the unmentionable -- think fluids, warm body parts, religious figureheads -- pushing the envelope as far as it could possibly go, cleaving away at any audience member daft enough to challenge the gent, which he kind of encourages, by the way.
Other confirmed acts include Robert Kelly, who will also be joining The Nasty Show crew as well as Debra DiGiovanni and Bob Marley - the other Bob Marley -- both slated to appear during Date Night: The Relationship Show. They'll be joined by the unbelievable Godfrey. I caught his act at last year's The Ethnic Show. This Zoolander alumnus is UNREAL. My abs were in PAIN. And I had to rush to the bathroom at the end of his bit to make sure I didn't laugh my eye makeup into raccoon formation.
Just for Laughs' 2013 edition English shows run from July 10 to July 28, 2013. Buy tickets.
