Evelyn Reid of About.com in meditation.Above: your humble guide in humble contemplation. I made it a habit to train my mind and spirit as well as my body. Why? My safety netless life circumstances offered me two choices: either sink. Or swim like a boss.

Resolution inspiration alert!

Once you go fit, and I mean really go fit, you never go back. It's one of the greatest feelings in the modern world.

Running for the bus without losing your breath, rushing up the stairs like it's a downhill run, being able to carry a heavier load of groceries home, shoveling snow like it's sport, busting moves you never thought you could, being able to eat MORE food than before ... every facet of your life irrevocably changes.

How do I know this? I've lived it, shedding roughly forty pounds.

But I won't lie. The first few months of training can feel like a living hell. But if you stick with it, let me tell you, you start feeling like Willow in the video below.

By the way, here's my story. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
