But for the first time in four years, a song has come close to outshining my annual anthem, Jingle Cats: White Christmas in Hell. It's composed by Montreal native -- actually, he's a Longueuil native but let's not remind him -- slash superstar Jon Lajoie, who propelled himself to Youtube fame with his almost debut smash hit Everyday Normal Guy back in 2007. Tens of millions of views and two albums later, he landed the prestigious role of out-of-work pothead musician Taco McArthur on FX Network's The League.
And just today, the part-time Los Angeles resident released his brand new tune, The Best Christmas Song, which for all intents and purposes is possibly the worst Christmas song.
That's a good thing.
