The Montreal Jazz Festival 2013 lineup is already taking shape with a hot-off-the-press announcement that none other than the queen and godmother of soul, Aretha Franklin, will grace the fest's 34th edition. As for other heavy hitters, saxophonist Wayne Shorter and trumpeteer Wynton Marsalis round out the bill. For now.

Running June 28 to July 7, 2013, expect more announcements to come as organizers continue to book the 2013 edition of Montreal's most popular festival of the year.
