"You learn something about yourself, you know, when you kill a pig." -Anthony Bourdain Mike Lawrie / Getty ImagesAnthony Bourdain. You either love him or hate him. And one thing's for sure, the intrepid New Yorker is nuts about Montreal, nuts enough to get plastered enough to rival The Galloping Gourmet in his infamous The Layover episode on the subject of our fair city. But I digress.
So for those who do appreciate Bourdain's unapologetic opinions -- his take on foie gras for one, see video below -- consider a chance to catch him live at Place des Arts on May 5, 2013 as part of his Guts & Glory Tour. He'll be shooting his usual breeze on travel-meets-food-related subjects, indulge the audience in a questions and answers period and as a bonus, he'll be joined Joe Beef's Fred Morin and Dave McMillan on stage.

I’m an ex-cook and like many who are/were in the restaurant business, I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Bourdain. I therefore find it saddening to view the prices being asked. I mean $62.00 for the cheapest ticket? I have been to all day music fests that cost that much, and concerts which have been cheaper.
The pricing is especially aggravating when you take into consideration that it was basically poor cooks buying copies of Kitchen Confidential that made him rich and allowed him to get out of the kitchen in the first place. By charging these kinds of prices he is essentially excluding a huge section of his fan base. I mean $62.00 to $167.00 is no joke for a lot of people. I’m pretty disappointed by this, and I imagine so will a lot of people.

Mike I completely agree. Very well put!
