Photos by Scott Olson (top) and Justin Sullivan (bottom) / Getty ImagesWondering where to go in Montreal to catch the U.S. election results on the big screen tonight in a social setting whereby shooting the breeze on the impact of either choice with friends, bar staff and complete strangers is made possible? So was my lovely Facebook friend who approached me for guidance earlier today.
The first locale that came to mind? I'm going to sound like a broken record but so be it if it ensures my readers are well-taken care of: Irish Embassy. Located on Bishop Street just south of Ste. Catherine (map), I'm fond of Embassy's multi-screen setup, low creepy patron count, ample seating arrangements -- hint: no sardine-squeezed standing in here -- and staff has consistently been courteous and efficient over the dozen-plus times I've been there in recent history. And it's confirmed. They'll be airing results as they come in as well as screen "pre-game" election coverage as early as 7 or 8 p.m.
If you know of any other venues doing the same thing as Irish Embassy, don't be shy to shout it in the comments section below.
