For a city boasting more restaurants per capita than any other metropolitan area in North America, it sure took a while for us to finally have our very own Montreal Restaurant Week.

Well, the wait is over, dear foodie readers.

Not to be confused with its smaller-scale January precursor Le Happening Gourmand, Montreal Restaurant Week, otherwise freshly baptized as Taste MTL, or MTL à Table, features over 100 participating restaurants proposing some fairly fabulous price points on table d'hôte menus specially prepared for the 11-day event.

I handpicked ten of my favorite Montreal Restaurant Week choices for your consideration. They're all upscale and delicious, completely worth a tastebud assessment, especially considering the prix fixe range is between $19 and $39, depending on the locale.

But don't drag your feet. One of my top choices, Toqué!, is already fully booked so get those reservations confirmed lest you wait til the next Montreal Restaurant Week comes round in 2013.
